The pervert ex-Celtic youth coach Jim McCafferty who confessed 50 years of paedophile crimes to Belfast Live, has died in jail.

Towards the end of his jail term in Co Antrim, he was spirited to Scotland by the PSNI and Police Scotland, where he was prosecuted for a catalogue of child abuse claims in his native country that stretched back to 1972.McCafferty, who was also employed at Falkirk and Hibs clubs, from was later jailed for a catalogue of abuse against young boys Scotland while he was the kit man and youth coach at Celtic FC.

McCafferty who admitted his crimes to Belfast Live reporter Jilly Beattie in his South Belfast home, told her: "It was only a bit of hilarity. I'm sorry if anyone was hurt." He died at HMP Glenochil, Scotland on Saturday, November 19 after spending five years, 11 months, 13 days in jail.
