Walter has motor neurone disease and is housebound, and says that the service that Food Train provides is a lifeline for him and rescued him after the death of his wife.

A Glasgow pensioner who began using the Food Train charity service after ending up in hospital malnourished has said the axing of council funding is 'horrific'.

"Food Train gave me my appetite back because I didn't have to worry about how I was going to get shopping, they really came to my rescue and it's really upsetting to see how they're being treated, it's really horrific and unfair." "It really is essential that they are funded because there are so many people who totally depend on Food Train.

Chris Curtis, regional manager of Glasgow Food Train, said: "At the end of the day our primary concern is the people like Walter, hundreds of them, that need our support.
