Mercy crews rushed to Back Rogerton Crescent in Auchinleck last night, but the 69-year-old man could not be saved.
The alarm was raised shortly after 10.15pm on Wednesday, October 5 when officers were alerted to a blaze having taken hold at a property on Back Rogerton Crescent in the village of Auchinleck.
Firefighters were successful in eventually putting out the flames. A joint probe has now been launched by both bodies into the distressing incident, which is currently being treated as 'unexplained'.
