The pedestrian, an 81-year-old woman from Preston, was taken to hospital with serious injuries

Police are now appealing for information and urging any witnesses to come forward. The road was closed for around three hours while officers remained at the scene. Sgt Rob Prescott, of Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations Unit said: “We are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a fatal collision.
Our thoughts are very much with the victim's family at this time. If you saw what happened, or if you have any dashcam camera footage which could help us, please come forward.” Anyone with information is asked to contact 101, quoting the log number 0700 of November 14 2022, or e-mail 6490@lancashire.police.uk.
