Female pedestrian suffers serious injury after being struck by car outside PNE's Deepdale Stadium

A female pedestrian has suffered a serious injury after being struck by a car outside Deepdale Stadium.

Police and paramedics were called to reports of a collision on Sir Tom Finney Way, outside Preston North End's ground, at around 1.40pm on Saturday . The road was closed in both directions for several hours between Blackpool Road and St George’s Road. The incident resulted in 'heavy traffic' in the area with surrounding routes, including Deepdale Road, also affected. According to traffic alert service Inrix, the road reopened at around 4.30pm.

Lancashire Constabulary have confirmed the RTC involved a car and a female pedestrian who was left with a 'serious leg injury'. The force is appealing for witnesses and anyone with information should call 101, quoting log 786 of June 3.
