A pedestrian was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car near a Shrewsbury roundabout.
West Mercia Police is appealing for information following the collision near the large Emstrey Island on the eastern outskirts of the county town.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 7.48pm on Saturday to reports of a car and a pedestrian that had collided on the A5064, Column in Shrewsbury. "One ambulance, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic and a Critical Care Car from Midlands Air Ambulance attended the scene."She received treatment from ambulance staff at the scene before being conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment. The driver of the car did not require treatment.”A police spokesman said:"Did you see a collision near Emstrey Island, Shrewsbury?"The pedestrian was taken to Royal Stoke Hospital.
