Parking has been a problem in Liverpool for a long time and one the council says it is working hard to clamp down on. The city centre is a particular hotspot, however pavement parking is a problem that is regularly reported across the city and other parts of Merseyside.
The transgressions have angered many people, and added fuel to the fire of an ongoing debate about the issue on social media. On Facebook, Cora Price said: "Pavement parking is a big problem where I live too. That and overgrown foliage. It's impossible in some places to find a pavement to walk on safely. Home owners should be made to cut foliage back and park on the roads."View gallery Nickie Jones said: "We went to Liverpool the other week, cost us £20 to park.
Another reader said: "Resolution is not difficult - parking tickets from LCC wardens, Merseyside Police or British Transport police. Using CCTV from the station they could alert via radio, telephone or email including the registration,"
