'We risk trading one deadly disease (COVID-19) for another'
The largest increase in unvaccinated children in 20 years has threatened global progress with the highly contagious disease.
The World Health Organization and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say three million more children missed vaccinations in 2020 than in 2019, creating 'dangerous conditions' for major outbreaks. Vaccination campaigns have helped, but the global progress is now threatened after health professionals 'diverted' to support COVID-19 responses.
