The majority of children - around 70% - will have contracted HHV-6B by the age of three, with most developing a natural immunity.Raffy had received a bone marrow transplant during his treatment for leukaemia, and tragically the virus can be fatal for those with weakened immune systems. Imogen, who also wanted to stress there's no suggestion Raffy contracted herpes at GOSH, said: 'Raffy didn’t have an immune system. He didn’t have anything to fight the virus off. It progressed from his blood into his organs and became very dangerous.
