Pantelis Chatzidiakos Greek international defender Pantelis Chatzidiakos has revealed he didn't want the 'risk' of moving to Leeds United in the summer transfer window. The 26-year-old moved from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar to Cagliari in Italy, and has confirmed that he had an offer from the Whites.
“I had a call from AEK Athens and also I had the option of Leeds United but I didn’t want to take the risk," he told radio station Era Sport. Test of character Leeds United have found the going tough on their return to the Championship. With five games played, the Whites are currently sitting 15th in the league table with just one league win to show for their efforts.
Starting with the trip to Millwall on Sunday, Leeds will play six games in just under four weeks, with two midweek games to play before the competition takes a breather for the next international break. It’s a gruelling run of fixtures, but one that will provide something of an early acid test for the Whites regarding their squad depth, mettle and character.
