However, he added that the Netflix show offers “an opportunity for the Palace to essentially remain silent and let the public and media make their mind up for themselves”, noting that a sense of “incredulity” shrouds many of Meghan and Harry’s claims. “They have however damaged the monarchy in the eyes of the young here. Their focus is on the United States and wider world to show the potency of their brand.”
He even suggested that if the two sides do make peace, Harry and Meghan could be “carefully deployed as part of the main group of working royals” again. Such a move could be made if the monarchy needed to shore up its popularity among younger age groups, from whom the Sussexes still attract significant support.
