Angelina Jolie is urging women to get checked for ovarian cancer, after she paid tribute to her mother who passed from the illness.
Ovarian cancer symptoms can often be missed in the condition's early stages, which is why it's known as a "silent disease". This can often result in late detection at a point when it becomes incurable. "She passed away 15 years ago, after a long struggle with breast and ovarian cancer. In June, I will be a month away from the age when she was diagnosed. I have had preventive surgeries to try to lessen chances but I continue to have check ups.
