Andre Onana has endured a poor start to life at Manchester United and he needs to return to his former self in two weeks' time.
Andre Onana was described as a 'lifesaver' by a member of Manchester United communications staff after the season's opening game.
Starts against Tottenham, Nottingham Forest, Arsenal and Brighton followed and Onana conceded a total of 10 goals in those fixtures, but with the exception of his appearance against the latter, he was helpless in stopping most of those. In the 28th minute of the game, Bayern winger Leroy Sane tried his luck from the edge of the box with an effort that any goalkeeper worth their salt would save and yet it somehow trickled through Onana's gloves.
"I'm the one who let the team down. The team were good, but because of me, we didn't win this game, so we just have to move on. This is the life of a goalkeeper and if we didn't win today, it's on me. But the 27-year-old has gone backwards instead and his performance against Galatasaray, which saw him gift the opposition a penalty and go down far too easily for the matchwinner, was his worst for the club to date.
