Olly Murs admits he is 'gutted' that Starstruck wasn't renewed for a third season.
The X Factor star, 39, hosted the show alongside a judging panel including Adam Lambert, Beverley Knight, Shania Twain, and Jason Manford. It was reported earlier this year that while there were initially plans to film another season of Starstruck this autumn, the plans were axed by TV bosses.
Speaking to The Sun at the National Television Awards, Olly explained: "Presenting is something I have always loved doing. Starstruck was amazing but that isn’t coming back. I'm gutted it is such a great show. In this game, things change so quickly. The ratings did really well but in terms of money and stuff like that, it just didn’t work."
However, while Starstruck won't be back, Olly admits that he would love to see X Factor make a comeback after becoming a household name on the series in 2009. "I love any show that gives people a crack at this industry. If it wasn’t for that show I wouldn’t be here," he said.
