A court heard that Claudia Hawksworth now lives with the ex-con
A prison officer sent topless pictures of herself to an inmate and booked a "getaway" break at a lodge for when he was released from prison. Claudia Hawksworth complimented him in sexually charged secret emails about his "banging body" and teased him about soon being able to enjoy "the real thing" with her.
Hannah Turner, prosecuting, said that Hawksworth was, at the time, working as a prison officer at HMP Humber, in the North Cave area. Reports were made that she was involved in an intimate relationship with a prisoner there. "Investigations were carried out following intelligence received that the defendant was having an inappropriate relationship with the prisoner that had been 'going on for months'," said Miss Turner.
The prisoner's cell was searched on September 22 2021 and emails were found that had been sent via an "email a prisoner" service. They had been sent to the prisoner by a Poppy Hicken, who was really Hawksworth. The name was a reference to her pet dog. Hawksworth made comments about his "banging body" and asked him in an email: "I might be able to see if you're a one-minute wonder, eh?" She said in another message on July 25, 2021: "Only 10 months to go and then you can have the real thing, not your hand."
Hawksworth sent her resignation letter to the prison on October 21, 2021 and she was arrested four days later. It was discovered that she had made numerous Google searches for the prisoner, thought to be about his criminal convictions. There were contact details for two of his family members. "She admitted to having sent topless photos of her breasts into the prison," said Miss Turner.
