Ohio State cruises past Youngstown State to improve to 2-0. What stood out in the Buckeyes' win?
The third-year quarterback completed 14-of-20 passes for 258 yards and three touchdowns. You’d expect him to play well against this level of opponent, but it was the reads he made that stood out to me. He looked downfield more than he did against Indiana, and it led to some big plays — two touchdowns to Harrison, including a 71-yard pass in the opening drive.
Like last week, McCord moved well in the pocket, avoided any mistakes and delivered the ball on time. There were, however, times when his ball placement looked slightly off. Harrison had to turn completely around to catch his second touchdown from McCord, a 39-yard pass to the right corner of the end zone. McCord also missed Harrison on the sideline.As for Brown, he played only three full drives and displayed his athleticism. He missed Egbuka a few times throwing underneath but then came back with one of his best throws a few plays later. Brown finished the game completing 7-of-13 passes for 101 yards while adding 9 yards on the ground.
