Manchester City are set to sign Matheus Nunes from Wolves for £55m after the Molineux club initially rejected the Blues' offer.
Gary O'Neil says Manchester City presented an improved offer to Wolves for Matheus Nunes which persuaded the club to sell him, having previously suggested that the midfielder would remain at Molineux.
Reflecting on the new developments, O'Neil insisted that Wolves are happy with both the transfer fee City will pay for Nunes, as well as the expected signing of Doyle on loan.“Overall, once everything goes through, including players coming the other way and some of the add-ons, the valuation is around where the club would have expected it to be," O'Neil said.
“Whenever I dealt with him before the situation came up, he was a great lad, worked hard and wanted to do his best for the team and the club. Then obviously a big club come calling and you understand players like to play for Manchester City." “So, competition for places is key and adding quality and someone we think is going to be able to affect games at this level for now and also for the future.”
