A prominent Glasgow councillor has issued an update about the year-long bridge works on Shields Road.
The Glasgow Times previously reported that the Southside street would be closed for a year, to allow for a Network Rail bridge to be demolished and rebuilt near the road.
Councillor Molyneux revealed that specialist contractors have been brought into the project following the discovery of a number of needles, Glasgow Cityare looking at footway surfacing, lighting and vegetation and that 'redundant' traffic signals are being removed. "The compound will be brought solely into the road area to maximise the width of the footway as soon as the red and white kerbing is removed.
