EXCLUSIVE: Ex-head of counter-terrorism for the Met Police Neil Basu's comments on the threats made towards Meghan Markle explained Prince Harry's anger, an expert has said
Prince Harry's anger makes sense now that the public have heard of concrete threats that were made towards Meghan Markle, a royal expert has said.
Now, royal expert Jennie Bond has exclusively spoken to OK! magazine about the comments made during the in-depth interview with Channel 4 News earlier this week. Jennie continued: "The language he used was extraordinary. And when you read some of the things they were saying, it was disgusting. It was racial abuse. So it does give us further understanding of Meghan's unhappiness, her state of mind receiving threats like this, and of Harry's enormous drive to protect her.
During the interview, Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu also shared: "We had teams investigating it. People have been prosecuted for those threats," giving further weight to Meghan and Harry's concerns. Referencing the moment a man threw eggs at King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla during walkabout at Micklegate Bar in York last month, she continued: "You know, that could have been something serious. So I don't think it's unusual but the level of threat and the racist undertones or overtones directed at Megan is utterly indefensible, horrific, absolutely appalling.
Jennie said these revelations have now reopened the debate on what level of security British taxpayers should provide for Harry and Meghan given that they've decided to live "on the other side of the world".Royal fans are set to get even further insight into Harry and Meghan's struggles over the past years as their Netflix docuseries is set to be released next week on Thursday, 8 December.
