The owners of Notts County have put to bed rumours that pop star Taylor Swift is to buy the club. A statement was posted on X from brothers Chris and Alex Reedtz at 11.23 am after the Weekend Sport newspaper published a story this morning saying that Swift was about to "stump up" to buy the League Two outfit.
The full statement says: "As sorry as we are to disappoint the Swifties in our fanbase, we're going to have to shake this story off. There's certainly no bad blood between ourselves and Taylor but at such an exciting time for us and the club, she surely couldn't have believed in her wildest dreams that we would relinquish our control.
Steve Marshall put: "I'd like to hear her version of the wheelbarrow song actually." And Dan Pacey said: "What a Love Story it could have been."
