Traffic monitoring website Inrix said: "A46 Southbound closed, queueing traffic due to accident, a car and a tractor involved from Lodge Lane to A6097 ." It added the road had been closed since 9.40am. In a Twitter post, National Highways said: "Traffic is currently stopped on the #A46 southbound between #B6166 and #A6097 near #CarColston #Nottingham due to a mutli vehicle collision . In a statement on its website, National Highways said: "The A46 in Nottinghamshire is closed southbound between the B6166 near and A6097 near due to a serious collision involving a tractor and a car."
