Great news for young people in our city
A Nottingham school has received a £100,000 grant to expand its sixth form site and offer a wider curriculum to its students. Djanogly City Academy will be using the charity grant from the Wolfson Foundation to refurbish part of its existing sixth form facilities, whilst also creating a new open plan space for creative subjects.
“We have high aspirations for our scholars, many of whom achieve exceptional progress whilst studying with us up to GCSEs. Our expanded sixth form offer will inspire more of our scholars to stay on after completing their GCSEs and to achieve at the highest level, which will increase their university options and future career choices.”There are more than 1,100 scholars aged 11 to 18 based at the academy's two sites on Sherwood Rise and Gregory Boulevard.
Liz Anderson, CEO of Djanogly Learning Trust, added: “I am really proud of what is being achieved by students and staff at Djanogly City Academy. It is inspiring to see the newly opened sixth form thriving and growing, and I would like to thank the Wolfson Foundation for its support.”
