Triple murderer Robert Maudsley - dubbed Hannibal the Cannibal - will remain in an isolated underground cell until he dies
A notorious serial killer will remain in an isolated underground cell until he dies after spending more than 16,500 consecutive days locked up in isolation.
The killer spends all of his time alone in a a glass box deep inside of the prison and is not allowed to associate with prisoners or even guards as he is deemed to be so dangerous. Although Maudsley always denied the allegation, he got his 'Hannibal the Cannibal' nickname amid claims he dug a spoon into the brain of one of his victims
The serial killer had 11 siblings and endured years of violent abuse after his parents collected the children from the orphanage when he was eight. After years of keeping himself out of trouble, Maudsley and fellow prisoner David Cheeseman, attacked convicted child molester, David Francis in 1977. He stabbed Roberts to death before hacking at his skull with a makeshift dagger. When Maudsley was certain Roberts was dead, he calmly walked up to a prison guard and told him there would be two less for dinner that night.
