The Lionesses will go head to head with Spain this Sunday (August 20)
This Sunday, England's Lionesses will be playing a momentous football match for the country, marking the most significant game since 1966, as they go head-to-head with Spain in the FIFA Women's World Cup . Anticipating a massive audience, millions of people are expected to tune in at 11am, hoping that the trophy will indeed be coming home.
In response to the government's request to expedite and support licence applications ahead of the highly anticipated match, West Northamptonshire Council, like all other councils, has received a directive. Consequently, the West Northamptonshire Labour Group is appealing to pubs and venues throughout the area to submit their applications as swiftly as possible.
Councillor Cathrine Russell, Labour councillor for St George, said: “For the first time in decades, England football finds itself in a World Championship final - thanks to our incredible Lionesses. I am urging the WNC to get behind our pubs, bars, and clubs in providing as many temporary event notices as possible ahead of this coming Sunday.
