All seven of the county's MPs voted against a Labour motion on fracking
Northamptonshire's MPs chose to stay loyal to Prime Minister Liz Truss during last night's crucial fracking vote, which saw accusations of assaults and parliament descend into chaos. The vote came at the end of a disastrous day for the Prime Minister, including the resignation of her Home Secretary.
The motion from the Labour Party was defeated by 326 votes to 230, but the roster also showed 36 Tory MP's failed to vote. This includes former Chancellor Kwase Kwarteng, former Home Secretaty Priti Patel, former PM Boris Johnson, and Prime Minister Truss herself, though this does not mean they intentionally abstained.
A minister denied the claim. Labour shadow minister Anna McMorrin wrote on Twitter that she witnessed one Conservative MP "in tears".
