Visitors are being warned not to swim in the sea at several locations in Lancashire after sewage was reportedly discharged from overflow pipes.
The Environment Agency's official water quality data states that there are four beaches in Lancashire where people shouldn't swim. But they are not the exact same as SAS, with them being Morecambe North, Fleetwood, Blackpool North, and St Annes North.Fleetwood Storm sewage has been discharged from a sewer overflow in this location within the past 48 hours and bathing not advised today due to the likelihood of reduced water quality.
A pebble and sand beach with patches of rock and shingle, Cleveleys is a large beach broken by groynes backed by a promenade, the town and Jubilee Gardens. A sewer overflow discharges to the southern end of the bathing water while various overflows from the Blackpool area may also affect water quality at Cleveleys.
