'This won't be a pub. It will be a bar with nice tapas food and soft, background music'
Developers of a new Rossendale village wine bar say it will be a tapas-type food and drink venue with piano music at weekends - not a noisy club with 'head-banging music'.
"I spoke to one neighbour who had concerns and showed her inside. She said she was really happy with it. When we closed the front doors, we could hardly hear an ambulance passing outside. It's a solid building. Labour Coun Christine Gill said: "Will it be a restaurant with tables and seating with meals? It's also quite a large building with an upper floor and a basement."
Mr Wehbe said customers would not be allowed to take drinks outside. He lived there and would manage things well to prevent noise disturbance, as far as possible. Signs would be displayed and staff would be trained.
