'No criminality' detected after Rutherglen blaze which saw residents evacuated from homes
There was no criminality detected after a building fire in Rutherglen, Police Scotland has confirmed.
The incident caused residents in flats nearby to be evacuated as fire crews fought to bring the flames under control. People in surrounding properties were also advised to keep their windows and doors closed. Following their attendance, a probe was launched over the dramatic event. Officers have now concluded that no criminality took place and the investigation has subsequently been stood down.
Road closures remain in place at Caledonia Avenue at its junction with Main Street, Rutherglen, and King Street at its junction with Farmeloan Road.
