The Lisburn family have spoken about the baby's dramatic arrival after police came to her rescue while she was in labour🚓
A Lisburn mum has spoken about the dramatic arrival of her newborn son after police came to her rescue while she was in labour.
"River was a few days overdue so I was induced on the morning of July 5th in the Royal. I was sent home again in the afternoon as they thought it hadn't worked and had rescheduled me for two days later," she recalled. Ritchie, 42, took up the story, adding: "The timeline between calling the hospital and River being born was about half an hour. I was in the passenger seat of the car and we were literally only three streets away from home when I had to ring the paramedics.
"I asked the police if they could take her out of the situation because I'm sure it was quite scary watching her mum in distress. They were amazing with her and put her into their car and took her to Lisburn station where her grandad picked her up later.
