NHS England waiting lists hit record high with more than 7.5 million waiting for routine hospital treatment. PGMcNamara reports.
More than seven and a half million people in England are now waiting for routine hospital treatment – the highest figure since records began – and three million higher than before the pandemic.
NHS bosses pointed to the junior doctors strike – with more than a hundred thousand appointments to be cancelled. But that’s just added to an already soaring waiting list.
