Multiple sources have come forward claiming the transfer of beds will take place on or around Monday, November 20 - supposedly three months ahead of schedule.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran has tonight refused to confirm or deny rumours that Intensive Care Unit beds will be shipped out of University Hospital Ayr next month and transferred to Crosshouse.

One source said: “We’ve been told that the departure of all Intensive Care beds from Ayr Hospital is imminent and the question is; will other services at Ayr follow? It seems to be general knowledge that A&E are going to 9-5 hours in future. These areas have been up for discussion for some time.

Ayrshire Live exclusively revealed back in March how Ayr University Hospital would lose all three of its level 3 ICU beds Intensive care beds.
