A security alert near Newtownbutler in County Fermanagh has ended and been declared "a deliberate hoax".The Crom Road was closed at its junctions with the Landbrock Road and the Galloon Road, but it was reopened on Sunday.PSNI Supt Mervyn Seffen thanked the local community for their patience and support throughout the security operation "which was implemented to ensure the suspect device did not pose any risk to the local community or the police officers who serve them".
He added that following examination of the suspect device by Army bomb disposal experts it had "been found to be a deliberate hoax".
