Nearly 18,000 Nottinghamshire families will be able to get more financial help this winter
as people are urged to apply before an upcoming deadline. Nottinghamshire County Council will soon be receiving £5.6 million from the DWP as part of the Household Support Fund .
A household with one child on free school meals will get £90 of support, whilst those with more than one child on free school meals will get an extra £30 per eligible child. Nottinghamshire County Council says it is now writing to the 17,898 households to urge them to apply ahead of a January 31 deadline.
