A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the alleged murder of a teenager who was fatally stabbed in Brighton last week. Mustafa Momand, 17, was pronounced dead at hospital following an incident in Queens Road, in Brighton city centre, at around 5pm on Thursday. The suspect, from nearby Southwick, who cannot be named because of his age, was arrested on suspicion of murder in the Moulsecoomb area that evening. He is set to appear in Brighton Youth Court on Tuesday.
'It follows the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Mustafa Momand in Queens Road, Brighton, around 5pm on Thursday 5 October. 'The suspect was arrested that same evening in the Moulsecoomb area.' Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Alex Campbell said: 'Our thoughts remain with the victim's family, who continue to be supported by officers at this difficult time.
