A murder suspect remains sectioned under the Mental Health Act after a man in his 80s died following after being 'struck by a weapon' at a Timperley home.
The victim, now publicly named as John Neil, was found with critical injuries and rushed to hospital from the scene, where he died a short time later. A murder probe was launched, with forensics and detectives remaining at the house for a number of days.The Manchester Evening News understands that Mr Neil was struck with an 'offensive weapon' at the property. A man, aged 50 was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder.
