Before the sentencing, Kathryn opened up about her heartache at losing her dad and her beloved partner of 18 years, Darren: "I just couldn't believe it," she said. "That happening with my dad and then this". Kathryn kept ringing Darren, who by then had been fatally stabbed near the home of drug dealer Younis, and was bleeding to death on the pavement in Radford Boulevard on August 10 last year.
"We played on the park," said Kathryn. "Darren was with us all day and playing football with them. He was climbing trees with the kids. "We would walk down the street together and we would look like Little and Large! He was 6ft 2ins and I'm 5ft 8ins, said Michael.
