The savvy Stockport shopper managed to revamp the room for under £50
When Eszter Platthy moved into her Stockport home last November, the entire property was painted a dull and unimaginative magnolia. The 44-year-old wanted to put her own stamp on the new home, and decided to tackle the transformation room by room - starting with the small upstairs bathroom.
“I wasn’t sure how to go about it so I began with some research and got inspiration from Pinterest and Instagram. I liked how people had used small plants to add colour to their rooms, and also people were using stick-on floor tiles to revamp their floors on a budget. I hated the dark grey industrial-style floor so I knew that had to change.
The savvy shopper opted to leave the other two walls the original magnolia colour to save buying another pot of paint. It took the mum two evenings to lay the floor while her two daughters were in bed, taking around six hours after all. With the two biggest jobs done, she was then able to add the finishing touches, using bargains from B&M and the charity shop.
