Anna Walker rushed her daughter Summer to hospital
A schoolgirl with headaches so bad she would scream in agony if she lay down flat has had to undergo four operations on her brain.
"Her brain was squashed and the skull goes over the brain so there was about 8mm of her brain coming out of her skull so there wasn't enough room for the fluid. They needed to make space. After further complications that left Summer screaming in pain, she was rushed for another operation meaning the schoolgirl had four major brain operations in the space of just three weeks. She even had one the day before her twelfth birthday and is still under Alder Hey care.
Now aged 14, Anna has nominated her daughter as a Child of Courage in the Your Heroes Awards because of the complications she has overcome following her operations and her determination to return to school and her studies.
