Rossendale and Darwen MP Jake Berry's 'get a new job' remark is 'outrageous but unsurprising', says constituency council leader

Comments by Rossendale and Darwen MP Jake Berry that people struggling with rising costs should cut their consumption or get a new job have been criticised as ‘outrageous’ and ‘astonishing’ by Labour councillors, including the leader of Rossendale Borough Council.

Labour Coun Alyson Barnes, leader of Rossendale Council, replied: “It’s outrageous, really, but not a surprising.
