BREAKING: Motorists told to avoid area as major road in Manchester closed due to fire
A major road in Manchester has been closed by emergency services after reports of a fire.Transport for Greater Manchester said on Thursday afternoon the A57 Hyde Road in Gorton - heading towards Manchester - has been closed due to a fire.No further details have been revealed.
The incident, however, is causing long tailbacks of traffic in the area, with knock-on delays reported as far back as the M60 motorway.Hyde Road, Gorton In a tweet, TfGM said: "A57 Hyde Road, Gorton. Road closed towards Manchester due to a fire. Queues back to M60 J24.
