Motherwell remain unbeaten in the Premiership after late drama at Fir Park

Harry Paton scored in the seventh minute of stoppage time on his return from injury to send Motherwell joint-top of the Premiership with Celtic.

Their woes were compounded before kick-off when it was revealed hitman Conor Wilkinson suffered a calf injury in training on Thursday, the extent of which is not yet known. He was among those dropping out alongside Davor Zdravkovski and Shane Blaney. Killie had the best of the opening stages and took the lead within 12 minutes. Armstrong was involved as he clipped a cross to the back post for Watkins, and he rose highest to nod the ball past Kelly from close range.

Killie almost scored a carbon copy of their opener in 43 minutes when Robbie Deas' delivery to the back post picked out Stuart Findlay. This time though, Kelly kept the effort out. In 58 minutes Motherwell finally took their opportunity. A sweeping move down the right eventually saw a driven cross break to Spencer, who managed to poke the ball in the direction of Casey. The big defender kept his composure to twist away from his marker and hammer home a low drive beyond Dennis for the equaliser.
