He says it all falls back on the company bosses
An angry Morrisons shopper has packed up his 'out-of-date rhubarb pie' and sent it to the CEO of the store. The shopper blamed "cutbacks" for the products remaining on the shelves passed their sell-by dates.
The shopper said: "I purchased a rhubarb pie from Morrisons in Cannock. It was out of date, which is illegal, and carries a fine of £5,000." After complaining about the product, he says he was offered a £2 refund via an e-voucher.However, he said he wasn't interested in the money back and wanted to highlight the lack of staff in the Morrisons store. He said the "very fantastic" shop workers weren't to blame.
In an email to Morrisons, the man said: "This is not about a refund as I could have obtained one myself. The issue is that staff cutbacks have caused this oversight, pure and simple, and as such your directors etc are the root cause.
