Looking for all the notable moves at the MLB trade deadline? Look no further. Stars, role players and prospects are on the move. Recapping it all:
Tommy Pham is a guy who gets his place in a crowded trade market. When asked by our Will Sammon about it this week, Pham had this to say: “For the amount of games that I’ve played, my WAR is way up compared to last year. My wRC is way up compared to last year.” And that made the baseball nerds among us push our eyeglasses higher on the bridge of our nose, pop over to his Baseball Savant page and beam.Pham is batting .268 with an .820 OPS this season, his best offensive numbers since 2017 in St.
Going back the other way is 17-year-old infielder Jeremy Rodríguez, who’s batting .256 in the Dominican Summer League. Dart throw. Lottery ticket. The return feels light, Pham for a non-top-30 prospect, but I guess that’s the going rate for a rental outfielder. The Diamondbacks won’t lose sleep over parting with Rodríguez, at least not for the next five years or so.
