Preston's Tulketh Tap Room could lose licence over claims of fighting, drug dealing and lock-ins
A Preston micro-pub could be stripped of its licence after a series of complaints including fighting and after-hours boozing.
It hosts regular live music events but could soon have its licence stripped following an application for a review from Preston’s environmental health team. The application will go before Preston City Council’s licensing committee next week with options available including to amend the licensing conditions, suspend it for a temporary period, or revoke it entirely.
On June 8 and August 1, two incidents of violent disorder were associated with the venue for the first time. Of the first, PC Connolly wrote that police were called to a “commotion” outside which involved a man lying on the floor bleeding from his head. It was later understood that the incident involved customers from the bar involved in an altercation by its external seating and, although staff witnessed it, they did not contact the police.
PC Connolly wrote: “PC Caton attended Tulketh Tap Room and noted that the door was shut and on seeing officers at the door the blinds were closed. Despite knocking, PC Caton advised that no one opened the door for several minutes until a female called Michelle Falconer opened it, presented herself as the manager and allowed officers inside.
“Bodycam footage captures Falconer stating that there was a female causing problems inside and that she ejected her which caused the incident. Another female was shown with her face covered in blood that had been involved in the incident. One of the females alleged that those inside the premises were hiding people responsible for assaulting them.”
