The now East Kilbride manager left Recreation Park after almost four years at the helm earlier this year but he was left utterly fuming after McInally stated his new-look side offer more than just a possession-based approach. McInally said: "It is a different kind of Darvel now, we're not just playing possession for possession sake, I think we have a real purpose in how we go about it and we are scoring goals at the right time. We are a real threat when we get into that final third.
But the remark over new look Darvel set off the man who helped mastermind the stunning Scottish Cup shock over Aberdeen last season. Posting on social media, Kennedy raged: "Possession for possession sake, the truth is this f***** idiot doesn’t know how to play possession football patient or indirect. I’d concentrate on trying to win a league you have never won."
