The health guru has helped millions

Michael Mosley has recommended one habit that people should try on a daily basis to help look and feel their best.

The 66-year-old, best known as the creator of the Fast 800 and 5:2 diets, has said we can "rejuvenate" our bodies and reverse the signs of ageing. On his new podcast, Stay Young, Michael spoke with a professor who discovered how a few minutes of exercise can revive us down to a cellular level.

Michael says: "Intense aerobic exercise that gets your heart rate going is one of the best you could do to stay young. It not only helps build your muscle mass, but it gives you more energy, boosts the immune system, improves your heart health and keeps your brain sharp, which is why it can make you look and feel years younger particularly if you get out of breath a bit."

During the show the expert explains we lose mitochondria and their function as we get older, however exercise can rejuvenate the powerhouses by removing old mitochondria and stimulating the creation of new ones.
