Steve Rotheram described the late Everton chairman as 'kind, funny and generous' following his death last month
The Mayor of Liverpool City Region has described Everton’s late chairman Bill Kenwright as a “true gentleman.”
Addressing a meeting of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority on Friday, Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram paid tribute to the theatre mogul.READ MORE: Dad slammed worker's head into a fridge after son, 13, was denied energy drink “He was an impresario as everybody knows, and he loved the theatre, but his first love was for Everton Football Club. I think we saw from the tributes that have been paid to him, how much he meant to so many people, so from the combined authority, rest in peace, Bill.”
Tributes have continued to pour in for Mr Kenwright since his death at the end of last month. Everton shared a video message from former manager Carlo Ancelotti on Instagram where the Italian said the late chairman explained what it meant to be a Toffee.
