These new warnings will be in place across Thursday and Friday
The Met Office has increased its weather warnings across the UK as Storm Babet is forecast to arrive from Wednesday. Yellow weather warnings will remain in place across the UK from Wednesday, October 18, to Saturday, October 21, but amber warnings have also been issued.
, with the Met Office warning: "Storm Babet is likely to bring exceptionally wet conditions across parts of eastern Scotland." In Nottinghamshire the yellow weather warning has also been reduced to three days, with the Wednesday warning now only covering Northern Ireland. For Nottingham, the Met office states from Thursday onwards: "Storm Babet will bring a period of very wet weather to many eastern parts of England, the Pennines and Scotland later this week." During this time they warn that spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions.From Thursday morning Nottingham is expected to experience light to moderate rain from 10am until around 1am on Friday.
The Met Office outlook for Thursday to Saturday states: "Rain and heavy showers likely for Thursday and Friday. "Risk of coastal gales on Friday. Saturday probably drier but cloudy with further showers. Feeling increasingly cold."
