The Met Office warns that the extreme weather will become more frequent and prolonged
A new Met Office report confirming 2022 was a record breaking year for weather - and a sign of things to come.
Temperature records were smashed last summer as a new high of 40.3C was recorded in Coningsby, Lincolnshire. A record of 34.8C was recorded at Charterhall, Scottish Borders last July. Mike Kendon, from the agency’s National Climate Information Centre, said: “In terms of weather and climate, 2022 was an extraordinary year for the UK.
