Things are set to get warm in parts of the UK as mercury soars, but forecasters have explained what they expect for Scotland in the coming days.
The warm weather follows a wet and mild summer so far, after stormy conditions lashed the nation. The hottest temperatures are expected to be experienced in East Anglia from Tuesday, with highs in the late 20s. London will also enjoy warm weather, with temperatures of up to 25C every day until Thursday, according to weather charts.
The BBC forecast states: "Sharp showers will continue in Scotland but will generally fall lighter and will be more scattered in nature. Cloudy with the odd shower in central areas, plenty of sunshine in the south." Temperatures in Scotland are set to peak around 18C this week, with Edinburgh experiencing the warmest of the weather at 19C on Wednesday.
